Brooklyn Fine Guitars is very proud to now be carrying banjos made here in the United States by the esteemed Deering Banjo Company. A family run small business based outside of San Diego, California, Deering is making excellent banjos at amazingly affordable prices given their domestic origin and level of craftsmanship. Head on down to our showroom for some picking and strumming and hear for yourself!
Our favorite open-backed banjo, with a 12” pot and Renaissance head. Both help deliver a more full mid-range and bass sound. This has a full-sized 22 fret neck but is still a manageable 4.5 pounds. Looks great, sounds better!
This is basically the Goodtime banjo with a beautiful resonator, to help project the sound by keeping it from getting trapped between the player and the pot. More volume than the open back model, while weighing only 6 pounds, or about the same as an acoustic guitar.
A big step up from the Goodtime open back banjo, this banjo features a brown rock maple neck and midnight maple fingerboard, and a sleek look with the planetary tuning pegs. It also includes 3 tuning spikes which allow for capo usage. Still very easy to handle at only 5 pounds.
A magnificent banjo, versatile and resonant with a clear and present tone suitable for all banjo styles, but especially for playing with other instruments. With resonator and patented tone ring for great volume and clarity of tone. A little heavier than our other Deering banjos at 8.5 pounds. Crisp, quality, professional.
Deering's most affordable full-sized banjo is a great place to start. Lightweight at only 4 pounds, this open backed banjo features an 11 inch pot with a violin grade maple rim and slender maple neck.
